Carte de la Côte d'Azur

W ho, among the happy fews attending the Cannes Film Festival and among people watching this event on their TV screen, never dreamed of spending a whole summer on the French Riviera?

F orgotten, low skies on the northern cities, snowy mornings, heading to work in the night, peak hours stress on the ring roads, yes, it's really over, Summer is back!

E ven though the C=F4te d'Azur is attractive and nice from winter to spring, it gets a special charm during the summer season.

U nder the sun and the chirping of the crickets, or under the cool atmosphere at dusk, art and creativity are omnipresent: Jazz, classical music, rock concerts, exhibitions, open-studios on the villages streets and in the cities, hinterland storytellers...

J uly takes some beating when it comes to the arrival of great Jazz musicians for the Nice Jazz Festival in Cimiez and for La Pin=E8de in Juan-Les-Pins.

A fter the concerts, visitors stroll in the little streets of the old towns, most of them being pedestrian zones, looking at the shops and art-studios, opened late at night. Cafes and restaurants serve outside, yet not as much crowded as in August, and one can savour seafood, local soccas and pizzas until early morning, when night birds walk out from private parties or discotheques.

Welcome to our new site, Riviera Magazine, and, "bon voyage!"
